LIMESTONE – Lloyd R. Phair, 67, died Aug. 15, 2004 at a Bangor healthcare facility after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Presque Isle, the son of G. Burton and Paula Olson Phair. Lloyd (also known to his longtime friends as Bump) attended the University of Maine at Orono and later graduated from Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He was a lifelong resident of Limestone where he farmed for many years. Later he established his own heating business until his retirement. He is survived by two sons, Craig Phair of Limestone and Gordon Phair and his wife, Krishna of Palmdale, Calif.; three daughters, Nancy Phair of Gorham, Marilyn Hickox and her husband, Terrell of Caribou, Gail Phair-Kirk and her husband, Gerald of Limestone. In addition, he leaves six grandchildren, Dahna Hickox, Chelsea Leighton, Audra Kirk, Tristan Kirk, Burgin Phair and Wade Phair. Lloyd is predeceased by his parents and his wife, Catherine (Sally) Lauritsen Phair; two brothers, Gary Phair, Carroll (Bee) Phair and one sister, Gail Phair. Friends are invited to visit with the family, from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at the Limestone Methodist Church, with Pastor Ellen Cleaves, officiating. It is requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the County Dialysis Center in Presque Isle.
