FARMINGTON, Conn. – Lois Edith (Austin) Wright, 83, of 260 Frost St., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2003, at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was born July 24, 1920, in Wytopitlock, one of 10 children of the late Ronello Austin and Florence (Matthews) Austin. She had been married for 58 years to the late Philip Wright of Bath. While her husband was stationed in Alamogordo, New Mexico, during World War II, Mrs. Wright worked on base, changing sparkplugs in military aircraft. Shortly after the war they moved to Southington, residing there for more than 50 years. She had worked as an administrative assistant for Bristol Plumbing Supply for many years. Since then she and her late husband had enjoyed extensive travel around the world. She was very active in the Church community, formerly with Plantsville Baptist Church and then The First Baptist Church in Southington. She is survived by three children, Ms. Florence Sheehy of Kalamazoo, Mich., Mrs. Susan Heffley of Brookfield, Conn., and Mr. Michael Wright of Exeter, R.I.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Austin of Southington, Conn., and Marion Austin of Canaan, Conn., also survive her. A daughter, Ms. Mary Sawyer of Gorham, predeceased her. Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Plantsville Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at The First Baptist Church, Meriden Avenue, Southington, followed by burial at Quinnipiac Cemetery in Plantsville.
