ETNA – Shirley R. Demmons, 43, wife of Daniel W. Demmons, died Dec. 2, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1959, in Dexter, the daughter of Norman Sr. and Marion (Delano) Timberlake. Shirley loved her family and was affectionately called “my little rosebud” by her father. She loved cooking, camping and shopping and enjoyed outdoor work including mowing the lawn. Surviving, in addition to her husband of Etna and her mother of Newport, are one daughter, Miranda Hopkins and her companion, Ashley Grindle of Blue Hill; four stepchildren, Amanda Ray and Heidi Carlisle, both of Bangor, Jessica Newcomb and Daniel Demmons, both of Levant; three brothers, Timothy and Linsay Timberlake, both of Newport, Norman Timberlake, Jr. of Texas; two sisters, Angie Godin of Etna and Holly Wheeler of Carmel; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Norma Demmons of Carmel, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Maurice ‘Crazy Moe’ Godin of Etna, Vern Wheeler of Carmel, Steven and Ellen Demmons of Lyman, Donald Demmons and Gail Moor of Hermon, Michael Demmons of Bangor, Gerald and Penny Demmons of Levant, Laurie and Scott Stevenson of Brunswick; a niece, Heather Godin of Frankfort; two nephews, Jason Godin of Bangor and Jeremy Godin of San Francisco, Calif., as well as many other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by an infant son and one brother, Thomas Timberlake. Family and friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday with Pastor Timothy Newcomb, officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Etna.
