CLIFTON – Ronald H. “Shorty” Wade, 62, died at Machiasport. He was born Aug. 16, 1941, in Brewer, the son of Roland H. and Dorothy O. (Hall) Wade. Shorty was a 1959 graduate of Brewer High School and had worked in sales for area motorcycle dealers, primarily Darling’s, for 30 years. Over the years, he raced motorcycles winning some national awards and he was an ATV safety instructor. Shorty was an avid kayaker and enjoyed competitive weight lifting in his later years. Surviving are his wife, Jacky L. (Seger) Wade of Clifton; one son, Jason Wade of New Hampshire; two stepdaughters, Christie Spearen of Bangor and Trica Spinney and her husband, Robert, of Portland; three brothers, David Wade and his wife, Ramona, of Bucksport, Dana Wade and his wife, Deana, of Florida and Lawrence Wade and his wife, Brenda, of Hampden; an uncle and aunt, Norman and Gladys Hall of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer, in celebration of Shorty’s life.
