ISLAND FALLS – Lois Pipes, 88, died Jan. 7, 2004, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 19, 1915, in Island Falls, the daughter of Boardman and Huldah (Watson) Dunphy. Lois was a past president of the Island Falls Senior Citizens Group and a past member of the R.S.V.P. for 20 years. She is survived by four children, Shirley and her husband, Clair Sides, of Sherman, Sandra and her husband, John Anderson, of Oakfield, Willard Jr. and his friend, Norma Crandall and Mary Pipes; grandson, Johnny McCarthy, who made his home with her, all of Island Falls; grandchildren, Tim, Paula, Lori, Janet, Terri, Michele, Michael, Eric, Andrea, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Chris, Sam, Olivia, Jordan, Andrew, Lyndsey, Kim, Cassidy, Janel, Jasmine and Nicholas; two sisters, Julia Botting of Patten, Dola Botting of New Hampshire; daughters-in-law, Elaine and Bonnie. She was predeceased by her husband, of 57 years, Willard Pipes Sr.; son, Michael Pipes; granddaughter, Dee-Ann; several sisters and brothers. Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004 at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2004. Burial will be in the spring at Island Falls Cemetery.
