ST. AGATHA – Lorette (Boucher) Labrie, 84, died April 8, 2005, in Frenchville, in the arms of her family. She was born May 23, 1920, in New Canada, the daughter of Patrick and Yvonne (Picard) Boucher. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She was a dedicated wife and mother of seven children. She was close to her Lord, always trusting in his divine plan for her and her family. Lorette was predeceased by the love of her life, Louis, who died June 20, 2004 (Father’s Day) to make ready the way for his beloved after being married for 62 years. Her journey into the dark unknown of Alzheimer’s was not traveled alone. Louis walked with her every step of the way. Even in the full stages of her disease, she was able to reach across from her world to smile at him. To her children, Lorette bequeath the gifts of love, courage, compassion and perseverance to guide them through life’s journey. Lorette and Louis were blessed with six daughters and a son. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her treasures. They are Louise and Robert Lagassey of Bangor and their children, Renae, Karen and John; Diane Viosine of Fort Kent and her son, Glenn; Daniel and Roberta Labrie of St. Agatha and their sons, Keith, Duane and Aaron; Judy and Tom Deschaine of Presque Isle and their children, Jarrod and Amy; Carol and Bruce Bartlett of Pittsfield and their daughters, Julie and Emily; Terry and Dave Wagner of Marlborough, Conn. and their children, Devin and Marisa; and Elaine and Ken Albert of Oceanside, Calif. She enjoyed her visits with her great-grandchildren, Michael and Jack Riley (Renae); Danielle and Justin Rice (Karen); Skylar Voisine (Glenn); Sylvia and Jacob Labrie (Keith); Kyle, Carson and Paige Labrie (Duane) and Gavin Labrie (Aaron). Lorette is also survived by five brothers, Lawrence, Norman, Raymond, Melvin and Rev. Gilman Boucher; three sisters, Sr. Therese Boucher, Doris Gagnon and Odette Nadeau. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Donald, Valier and the Rev. Nelson Boucher. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, at St. Agatha Catholic Church, with her brother, the Rev. Gilman Boucher celebrant. Calling hours will be at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha, at 7-9 p.m. Sunday, April 10, and 8:30 a.m. Monday morning until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the St. Agatha Parish Fuel Fund or to the Activity Fund at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Frenchville, where for seven years Lorette was lovingly cared for. Envelopes will be available at Michaud’s Funeral Home.
