CARMEL – Lorraine E. Verrill, 75, wife of the late Robert Verrill, died Dec. 20, 2004, at a Bangor hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 3, 1929, in Carmel, the daughter of Harold and Eleanor (Knight) Brown. She enjoyed dancing and was a student of Larry Dutch’s and one of his “boogie buddies”. She enjoyed embroidering and sharing it with family and friends. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Deborah Verrill and Gary McFarland of Lamoine; two sisters, Joan “Jo” Emery and special friend, Al Bolster of Carmel, Serean and her husband, Craig Clement, of Brewer; four brothers, Norman and his wife, Emily Brown, of Carmel, H. Maynard “Brownie” Brown and his wife, Jane, of Fla., Clarence “Brownie” Brown and his wife, Linda, of Carmel, Gary Brown of Bangor; one grandson, Brent Douglas of Sandwich, Mass.; many nieces and nephews; and her long-time friend, Al, of Brewer. She will be especially missed by her grand dog, Mandy. She was predeceased by her daughter, Roberta Douglas. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Dr. David Henry, pastor of the Lamoine Baptist Church, officiating. Spring interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Carmel.
