HOULTON – Louann Hayes Flewelling, 51, passed away Aug. 9, 2007, in Houlton, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 10, 1956, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of Francis and Margaret (Derosier) Hayes Gehringer. Louann was a certified nurse’s aide working in Massachusetts and then at Madigan Estates Nursing Home, Houlton. She also worked as an advocate to locate missing children. She donated crafts for On-line Angels, which is a foundation that helps people in need. Louann is survived by her husband, Anthony “Cubby” Flewelling; her mother; two sons, Keith Hayes and his wife, Kelly and Bryan Flewelling, all of Orient; four daughters, Amy Carmichael and her husband, Steve, Mary Flewelling, Crystal Flewelling and Cheyanne Flewelling, all of Houlton; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Hayes and his wife, Sandi, of Houlton and Kevin Hayes and his wife, Donna, of Spencer, Mass.; three sisters, Sandra Masiello and her husband, Paul, Karen Sullivan and her husband, Kenneth, all of Spencer, Mass.; and Debbie Malpass and her husband, Wayne, of Auburn, Mass.; three step-children, Anthony Flewelling Jr. and Louis Flewelling, both of Connecticut and Dolly Flewelling of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Francis Hayes Sr.; brother, Francis Hayes Jr.; and a special niece, Jessica Hayes. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with deacon Al Burleigh officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
