WOODLAND – Louise A. Espling, 83, died June 1, 2007, at her Woodland residence. She was born March 8, 1924, in Caribou, the daughter of Leon and Anna (Paradis) Plourde. Mrs. Espling was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she served as the volunteer manager for the Good Samaritan Thrift Shop for more than 28 years. Louise was also a 23-year member of the Caribou R.S.V.P. She married Arnold Espling April 8, 1947, and he predeceased her in 1995. She is survived by her special companion and friend, Phil Theriault of Caribou; three daughters and a son-in-law, Dianne Dewbre and Donna, and Lonnie Arp all of Larimore, N.D., and Libby Espling of Woodland; her brothers and sisters, Emma Whitt of Tennessee, Rita Phelan, Elizabeth Beaulieu, Laura Sweeney and Theresa Andrews, all of Caribou, Ann Plourde, Louis Plourde, Regina Beaumier and Florence White, all of Massachusetts, Joseph Plourde of South Carolina and George Plourde of Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Michelle Raddatz, James Arp, Christa Arp, Dawn Salisbury, Derek Dewbre and Daniel Dewbre; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Everett Espling and his wife, Vicky and their children, Joey and Holly of Hancock. Mrs. Espling was predeceased by a sister, Cecile Espling. Louise had many close friends and special customers at Good Sam’s Thrift Shop. Many thought of her as their “mom.” She will be fondly remembered and missed by many. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A funeral Mass will be concelebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. David Raymond and the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating.
