COLUMBIA FALLS – Grace S. Bucknam “Gram Buck” died June 2, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Roque Bluffs, the daughter of David and Esther (Fish) Sinford. Grace married Allen Bucknam Sept. 19, 1945. She was very active with Columbia Falls Methodist Church, United Methodist Women’s Group, the Columbia Falls Cemetery Association and served on boards for the Milbridge Medical Center and Downeast Community Hospital for many years. She retired as a nutritional aide with the University of Maine. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and helping others. She loved to send cards to let people know she was thinking of them. She is survived by her children, James R. Bucknam and wife, Gail and Mary E. Kane and husband, Kenneth; her five grandchildren, J. Darin Bucknam and wife, Robyn, Julie and husband, Chris Burke, Kelley and husband, Michael Danforth, Daniel and wife, Mindy Kane and Timothy and wife, Mandy Kane; her 10 great-grandchildren, Luke Bucknam, Kristen, Brittany and Cassidy Burke, Keagan and Kayla Danforth, Brantley and Brayden Kane and Keenan and Chase Kane; six brothers and sisters, Electa Feeney, Anne Schoppee, Mildred Lohr, Lor-raine McGray, Jean Grant and Leon Sinford. She was predeceased by her husband, Allen; brother and sisters, David Sinford, Beatrice Norton and Gloria Bridgham; and great-grand-daughter, Karmen Kane. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. June 10, at Columbia Falls Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
