ADDISON – Louise A. Joy, 99, passed away Oct. 28, 2004, at a Machias Hospital after a brief illness. She was born April 1, 1905, in Addison, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Vesta A. (Ingersoll) Ackerman. Louise was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints. When she was able, she enjoyed attending the Union Church in South Addison. During her lifetime, Louise assisted in the deliveries of many children in the Addison area and surrounding communities. She was an expert seamstress and cook. Louise was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She is survived by two daughters; Hazel Hardy of Massachusetts, and Martha Look and husband, Tom, of Addison; daughter-in-law, Beverly Joy of Indiana; grandchildren, Pamela Lund and husband, David ,and Stephen Hardy and wife, Lynn, all of Massachusetts, Raymond Look and wife, Jane, of Florida, Wayne Look and wife, Carmen, Kevin Joy and wife, Julie, and Debbie Gray and husband, Harold, all of Addison, Lois Curtis and husband, Jimmy, of Orrington, Tina Corson and husband, Tim, of Winterport, Brian Trundy and wife, Elaine, of Florida., Ruth Norton and husband, Oscar, of Beals, and Darlene Turnpaugh and husband, Dave of Indiana; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Phyllis Decker of Columbia and Phyllis Soper of Orland. A very special thank you is given to Kevin, Julie, Eric, Harold, Debbie, and Cameron for the special loving care that they gave to their grandmother. Louise was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Joy Sr.; daughters, Florence Joy, Doris Polk, and Pauline Small; and sons, Harris Joy, Elmer Joy, Carlton Joy, Ralph Joy Jr., and Ernest Joy. Per Louise’s wishes there will be no funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Union Church, care of Pastor Harold Tyler Jr., 326 Mooseneck Road, Addison, ME 04606.
