CHERRYFIELD and JONES-PORT – Myra Louise Alley, 64, passed away May 21, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Beals, the daughter of Eben and Lois Frances Alley. Myra was an avid and accomplished artist, having had her works published in newspapers, books and museums. She had a deep love of yellow convertibles, which was the inspiration for a great deal of her artwork. She competed in the Special Olympics for many years, earning medals and honors, of which she was very proud. Myra took great joy in her family and her photographs. She will be remembered most for her lively spirit. Myra is survived by three nephews, Manford Durkee Jr. and wife, Linda, Leonard Dur-kee and wife, Nancy, and Kevin Durkee, all of Jonesport; one niece, Cheryl Bailey and husband, Bryce, of Waite; her great-nieces and great-nep-hews, Lillian Faulkingham and husband, Nick, Benjamin, Jennie, Whitney and Karma Durkee of Jonesport, Adrian and Paige Durkee of Brewer, Alysha Peabody of Addison, and Sasha and Kelsey Bailey of Waite; a special aunt, Lena Wall of Jonesport; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends throughout the area. She is also survived by her caregiver, Bonnie Fontaine of Cherryfield. Myra was predeceased by her loving parents, Eben in 1991 and Frances in 2003; and a sister, Lillian (Alley) Durkee in 1974. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the Community of Christ Church, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24.
