HARRINGTON and FRANKLIN – Louise E. Bennett, “Aunt Weese,” 84, died peacefully March 8, 2006, at her home in Harrington. She was born April 10, 1921, in Columbia Falls, the daughter of George and Fannie (Beal) Bennett. Louise attended school in Columbia Falls and graduated from Franklin High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in education at Washington State Teachers College (UMM) and then accomplished her master’s degree from Hoffstra in New York. She taught in Northeast Harbor, Sullivan, and Hicksville, Long Island, N.Y. where she retired. She was a devoted teacher and coworker. Louise is survived by a sister, Faye Billings of Franklin; a niece, Cindy Strout and family, Mark, Jeff and April, Stevie and Maria, Scott, Cassandra, Hunter, Anna, Ashley and Evan, all of Harrington; great-nieces, Tracy Woodraska and her family, Todd, Jackson and Tanner, Beth and Duane Moore, all of Florida; special family, Philip Beal and girls, Evelyn, Joyce, Phyllis and Judy of Connecticut, Ken and Bess, Mike and Julie, Judy, Bobby and Lee Kenny, Dick, Teddy Ann, Judy, Yvonne, Dick Bennett and Bev. She will be dearly missed by all the staff and residents at the Grace Home. Louise was predeceased by her parents; brother-in-law, Weyman; nephew, Lynn; niece, Patty; cousin, Phyllis; lifelong friends, Ruth, Dickie Lee, Lindsay and Happy. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at Bayview Cemetery, Franklin. Contributions in Louise’s memory may be made to the Franklin Veterans Club, P.O. Box 66, Franklin, ME 04634.
