ORMOND BEACH, Fla., and BANGOR – Louise G. Roberts, 87, died unexpectedly Feb. 1, 2007, at Ormond Memorial, Florida. She was born Aug. 25, 1919, in Bangor, daughter of Cleveland and Marion (Perkins) Giles, and was a winter resident of Florida since 1985. She was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1937 and Beal Business College. During her early years she was employed at the University of Maine -Orono, and later, in the family business, Furbush Roberts Printing Co., Bangor. Louise was active in school PTA’s, a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor and St. Brendan Catholic Church, Ormond Beach, Fla.; the Tomoka Oaks Country Club, Ormond Beach, Fla.; the Penobscot Valley Country Club, Orono; a honorary member of the Patawa Club, Bangor; and was an avid bridge player. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Charles Roberts of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Bangor; one son, Tom Roberts and his wife, Sue, of Hampden; five daughters, Marion (Roberts) Hessert and her husband, Gen. Wilfred Hessert, of Palm Coast, Fla.; Anne (Roberts) Spencer of Bangor, Jane (Roberts) LaVie, of Olympia, Wash., Lesley (Roberts) Waterman and her husband, Neil Waterman, of Bangor, Mary Ellen (Roberts) Stone and her husband, Skip Stone, of Portland; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grand-children, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; one sister, Frances Johnson; two brothers, Paul and Richard Giles. Friends were invited to call Sunday 3-5 p.m. at the Dale Woodward Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, Fla. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at St. Brendan Catholic Church, Ormond Beach, Fla. Interment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, at a later date and time to be announced.
