FORT FAIRFIELD – Louise H. Dubay, 95, wife of the late Frank J. Dubay, died Saturday morning, May 5, 2007, at a Caribou nursing facility, after a brief illness. She was born June 10, 1911, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Harry G. and Lavina (Barnes) Hagerman. A lifelong resident of Fort Fairfield, Louise graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1928 and from Aroostook State Normal School in 1930. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Fort Fairfield; was married to Frank J. Dubay April 17, 1948, and was employed as a teacher in several Fort Fairfield schools for more than 30 years. Louise was a member of the Maine Teachers Association, the National Education Association, the Maine Retired Teachers Association, the American Association of Retired Persons, and was a life member of the American Disabled Veterans’ Auxiliary of Smart-Ricker Chap-ter No. 10, Presque Isle, where she had held various offices. She also belonged to the Bethel Baptist Church Ladies Missionary Society and had taught forth grade Sunday school. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dubay was predeceased by her husband, Frank, May 16, 1984; and three brothers, Claude, Orrin and Warren Hagerman. She is survived by one son, Byron “Barney” Dubay of Fort Fairfield; three granddaughters, Stephanie Dubay of Fort Fairfield, Amy Hayes and her husband, Richard, of Holden and Emily Dubay of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Ethel Kilcollins of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will be after at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
