JACKMAN – Lucia D. Nadeau, 86, died Friday, April 13, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 2, 1920, in New Brunswick, the daughter of Alphonse and Alice (Roy) Duquette. Lucia was very active within the community, helping with events such as blood drives and community dinners. She enjoyed reading and knitting, especially socks. She was a member of William Doughty VFW Post No. 5723 Ladies Auxiliary, a communicant of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and a former member of the Daughters of Isabella. Her husband, Henry E. Nadeau predeceased her. She is survived by five children, Daniel Nadeau of Winslow, Veronica Goolsby and husband, H.L., of Carthage, Miss., Ann Marie Boudreau of Glenburn, Nancy Smith and husband, Larry, of Milo and Kathy Peden and husband, Mike, of Carthage, Miss.; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; four siblings, Rita Fortier of South Portland, Lionel Duquette of Winslow, Lawrence “Babe” Duquette of Jackman and Anita Owen of Brunswick; a sister-in-law, Verne Duquette of Jackman; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Jackman, with Fr. Richard Malo officiating. Interment will be later in the spring at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Jackman. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, P.O. Box 338, Jackman, ME 04945.
