FORT KENT – Lucien “Shorty” Ouellette, 87, died Jan. 5, 2005, at a Madawaska healthcare facility. He was born in Frenchville, Nov. 26, 1917, the son of Fortunate and Annie (Michaud) Ouellette. He belonged to the Fort Kent Fourth Assembly of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 0352, and was a member of the MSEA. Shorty began teaching in 1954 at the Patrick Theriault School and retired in 1982. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing cards with his friends. He is survived by his daughter, Janice and her husband, Cliff Cyr, of Madawaska; three grandchildren, Jessica Cyr of Windham, Joshua Cyr of Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan, and Justin Cyr of Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif.; one special brother-in-law, Peter Toschi and his wife, Lucille, of Plainville, Conn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Wilfreda, in 1995; and two brothers, John and Raoul. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home in Fort Kent, and Tuesday 9 a.m. until the time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial, with full Fourth Degree honors, will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Fort Kent with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Spring burial will be held in the parish cemetery May 18, 2005. Those who wish, in his memory, may donate to the Edgar J.
