BEALS – Lurline B. Beal, 99, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005, at Narraguagus Health Care Facility, after an extended illness. She was born Feb. 25, 1906, in Columbia, the daughter of the late Bartlett and Lucy (Thompson) Smith. Lurline was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Beals. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and would make Christmas gifts for her family. Lurline was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will always be remembered as a very giving person. She is survived by her children, daughter, Frances Farrell, of Shrewsbury, Mass., daughter, Mamie Colacci, of Westboro, Mass., son, Harry “Twink” Alley and his wife, Aseliah, of Beals, son, Lester “Bud” Alley, of Jonesport, daughter, Martha Rose Beal and companion, Alan Bell, of Addison; special granddaughter, Dorea Leighton and husband, Frederick, of Steuben; daughter-in-law, Amanda Marcoux, of Beals; special grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Angel, Joseph, Myron, Sarah, Levi, Bobby-Jo, Connie, Janice, Greg, Charlene, Cindy, Juanita, Sheila, Janssen, Mitchell, Matthew, Christopher, Alton, and Nichole; and many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. A special thank you is extended to Aseliah, Fred, and great-granddaughter, Angel Willey, for all their time and care that was given, and to the nurses, CNA’s, dietary staff, and all those who sent up late night meals and snacks, also those who checked up on the family and “Gram” to see how they were doing, and Brent Beal and his wife. It was greatly appreciated. She was predeceased by a husband, Virgil Beal; a son, Charles Marcoux; daughter-in-law, Velma Alley; and brother, Orland Smith; and a sister, Frances French. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at the Backfield Cemetery, in Beals, officiated by Pastor George Woodward. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge.
