BROOKLIN – Lyman L. Closson, 69, died Friday, July 7, 2006, at a Blue Hill healthcare facility. He was born Oct. 14, 1936, in Blue Hill, the son of the late Donald B. Closson and Hazel (Candage) Poulin. Mr. Closson attended schools in Blue Hill and Brooksville. He was a U.S. veteran serving in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Closson had many employment opportunities, including, farming, claming, painting, truck driver, school bus driver and a lobster wholesaler. He shared 41 years of marriage with Rebecca (Seekins) Closson. In addition to his wife, family members include a daughter, Mary Lou Hutchins and her husband, Henry, of South Paris; a son, Earl Shephard of Portland; a stepson, Kevin S. Seekins and wife, Beverly, of Belfast; two grandchildren, Amanda Seekins and Cory A. Hutchins; a special niece, Tina Pert of Brooklin; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and pets. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald B. Closson; and a sister, Linda L. Chirsty. Graveside services will be held noon Wednesday, July 12, at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
