OLD TOWN – Lynwood “Linny” Charles Hachey, 70, died after a long illness Feb. 21, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 6, 1934, in Bangor, the son of Arthur J. and Corinne Marie (Bolduc) Hachey. Linny graduated from Orono High School before serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He attended Higgins Classical Institute and then graduated from Husson College with a business degree. Linny worked for the State of Maine for a number of years prior to working for Hughes Brothers Construction for over 30 years. He enjoyed following local high school sports and the University of Maine. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Lanta (Preston) Hachey; children, Marlee Sanborn, and husband, Daniel, of Bucksport, MMC Morris Pollard, and wife, Monica, of Groton, Conn., Gregory Pollard, and wife, Becky-Jo, of Milford, L. Marie Hjorth, and husband, David, of Veazie, Richard Hachey, and wife, Cassandra, of Bangor, 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, David Hachey. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 25, with the Rev. Joseph Koury, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, presiding. Interment will be in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
