CARIBOU – Mack Madore, 93, died July 4, 2006, at his Caribou residence after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 9, 1912, in Caribou, the son of Levite and Adelina (Cyr) Madore. He was a graduate of Van Buren High School, where he was valedictorian of his class. Mr Madore was a self-employed farmer and potato grower in Connor for many years. After his career in farming he moved to Connecticut where he was employed by Pratt and Whitney as well as Standard Knapp Electrical for a number of years prior to returning to Caribou. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also attended Catholic churches in Connecticut as well as Holy Rosary in Caribou. Surviving in addition to his wife, Phyllis (Hobbs) Madore of Caribou are four sons, Ronald Madore and his wife, Kathleen, of Caswell, Douglas Madore-Majors of Centerbrook, Conn., J. Clarence Madore and his wife, Rita, of Portland and Richard William Madore and his wife, Carol, of Broad Brook, Conn.; one daughter, Theresa Larson and her husband, David, of Portland, Conn.; a daughter-in-law, Betty Madore of Higganun, Conn.; 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Madore was predeceased by his first wife, Cecile Theriault Madore in 1985; a son, Robert in 2005; and a brother, Eddie. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be at a later date in Connecticut. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Madore may do so through the American Heart Association.
