DOVER, N.H. – Donat B. Martin, 99, died July 2, 2006, in Dover, N.H. He was born June 19, 1907, in St. Agatha, the son of Belone and Angelique (Franck) Martin. A graduate of Madawaska Training School in Fort Kent and the Normal School in Presque Isle, he did graduate work at the University of Maine and Gorham State College. He served as principal of the Evangeline Elementary and Junior High School in Madawaska, and taught in Caribou. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Thomas Trueman of Florida, Mrs. Joan Joseph Fenton of Rochester, N.H. and Mrs. Donna Leonard Stevens of Barrington, N.H.; two sons, Donald Martin of Portsmouth, N.H. and Julian Martin of Semi Valley, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover, N.H. The funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Church, 577 Central Ave., Dover, N.H. Burial will be after in St. Mary New Cemetery.
