CHARLESTON – Madelene M. Hanson, 75, died Nov. 29, 2004, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born July 24, 1929, in Bradford, the daughter of Victor and Ida M. (Strout) Hanson. Madelene had worked in area shoe shops for 35 years. She is survived by a twin sister, Victorine H. Higgins of Guilford; a brother, Manuill C. Hanson of Exeter; two half-brothers, Clyde “Al” Bowley of Guilford, Richard E. Bowley of Sangerville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Madelene will be remembered as a loving and caring person, who especially enjoyed all kinds of crafts. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Puddledock Cemetery, Charleston, with Pastor Ray Beless officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maine Alzheimer’s Disease Assoc. Inc., 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
