PATTEN and THORNDIKE – Madeline Jeannette (Peavey) Brown, 78, died Jan. 19, 2006, at Patten, with her daughter at her side. She was born May 19, 1927, in Patten, the daughter of George and Lena (Michaud) Peavey. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Sodality and had worked at Huber’s Mill in Patten. She and her husband, Robert were also caretakers of estates in Connecticut and Massachusetts. She is survived by three children, Robert Francis Brown and his wife, Brigitte, of Westminster, Colo., William Paul Brown and his wife, Kathy, of Mount Vernon and Linda Jean (Brown) Greeley and her companion, Larry Dockins, of Patten; seven grandchildren, Jessica Soper, Garrett and Travis Brown, Paul and Robert Brown, Kristi Ferro, and Ben Greeley; and four great-grandchildren, Lydia and Elyse Brown, Alyssa Soper and Sierra LaCroix; one sister, Ruth MacKenzie of Agawam, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1988; and one son, Gary in 1979; two brothers, Robert and George; and one sister, Mary Hatt. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Monday, at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Patten. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., with Fr. Eddy Morin, celebrating. Spring interment will be held in the St. Benedict’s Cemetery, Benedicta. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
