INDIAN ISLAND – Madeline Mary Paul, 77, wife of the late Louis Kenneth Paul died Sept. 7, 2006, at a Bangor hospital, with her family by her side. She was born March 22, 1929, in Indian Township, daughter of George Stevens and Maria (Lewey) Stevens. She was a devoted wife and mother who was always there for her family. She will be greatly missed and always remembered for her devotion and love to her family and for being the best grandmother. She is survived by 13 children, Shirley, Erlene, Ken, Kathy, Steven, Edward, Michael, Donald, Ronald, Lisa, Sharon, Jan and Jean; 22 grandchildren, Lynn, Alan, Maria, Peter, Stephanie, Kim, Jillian, Eric, Amanda, Charlene, Tom, Eleanor, Gina, Andrea, Josh, Jake, Joel, Nathan, Kaitlin, Gabriel, Jasmine and Kaleb; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Stevens Jr. and John Stevens; two sisters, Mildred Yautroussis and Rita Ranco; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Louis; a daughter, Mary Madeline; a grandson, Richard Julian Paul, three brothers, Benjamin, Dickie and Eugene, a sister, Phyllis and her dog, Nkwosis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Indian Island, with the Rev. Thomas Farley, celebrant, Deacon Fred Harrigan, homilist and Deacon George Stevens Jr. Interment with will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Tribal Cemetery, Indian Island.
