CARIBOU – Madeline E. McDougal, 98, wife of the late Haze A. McDougal Sr., died Feb. 22, 2006, at a Caribou healthcare facility. She was born June 12, 1907, in Limestone, the daughter of Frank and May (Crawford) Levesque. She was employed at Bird’s Eye Division General Foods and American Kitchen for many years until her retirement. Madeline was an active member of the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was also active in the United Methodist Women’s Group and was a member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved sewing, her flowers and the neighborhood birthday parties. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Darrel and Betty McDougal of Westmanland; a daughter, Avis M. Armstrong of Caribou; one sister, Regina Cochran of Caribou; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Wood of New Hampshire; three sisters-in-law, Hilda Levesque of Massachusetts, Glenna White of Wade and Eva Levesque of Washburn; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; including one special niece, Joyce Wark of Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her husband, Haze; two sons, Donald McDougal and Haze McDougal Jr.; one daughter, Capitola McDougal; six brothers, Raymond, Otis, Hubert, Charles, Simon and Sterling Levesque; three sisters, Beatrice Collins, Inez Whitneck and Lena Devoe. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Anna Beach, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will take place in the Grimes Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Madeline may do so through the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
