BEALS – Madelyn A. (Larrabee) Peabody, 89, passed away March 28, 2005, at Narraguagus Bay Health Care Facility after a lengthy illness. She was born May 9, 1915, in the Larrabee District of Machiasport, the daughter of the late Hallie D. and Beatrice L. (Thompson) Larrabee. Madelyn attended Jonesport schools and graduated from Jonesport High School in 1933. She was a kind, loving, and caring person who touched the lives of everyone she knew. Many knew Madelyn as “Aunt Maddie”. She is survived by her son, Ronnie Peabody and wife, Mary, of Jonesport; sister, Phyllis Crowley, of Addison; brother, Kendall Larrabee of Machias; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews; and many friends. She will also be fondly remembered by her special neighbors, Jeff and Pam Libby and their children, Jeffrey, Joseph, and Tiffany. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer R. Peabody; sons, Douglas and Neal; and a daughter-in-law, Judy. Visiting hours will take place from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the Wesleyan Church in Beals. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Sewall Field Cemetery in Beals. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias.
