HOULTON – Mansfield G. London, 88, died Feb. 9, 2008, at a local health care facility. He was born Jan. 16, 1920, in East Hodgdon, the son of Clar-ence E. and Myrtle (McConnell) London. Mansfield was a member of Houlton Methodist Church and Methodist Men’s Club, Houlton Grange and Rotary. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Maine and his master’s from Colby College, and was a member of Alpha Gamma Roe and Alpha Zatta Fraternities. He was a Future Farmers of America instructor, taught agriculture at Hodgdon High School and then science at Houlton High School until his retirement and was a member of the Maine Retired Teachers Association and National Retired Teachers Association. He is survived by his wife, Irene (Bubar) London of Houlton; one son, Kent and his wife, Lori, of North Vassalboro; three daughters, Carleen London of Houlton, Leslie Ryan of Sidney and Susan and her husband, Roger McBride, of Littleton; one sister, Joyce Duff of Connecticut; six grandchildren, Bret Ryan of Sidney, Britt Ryan of Pawcatuck, Conn., Matthew McBride of Littleton, Sara and her husband, James McQuarrie, of Hodgdon, Ross London of North Vassalboro and Chad and his wife, Alison Littlefield, of Lewiston; two great-grand-children, Katie McQuarrie and Brooke Littlefield; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul; and sister, Arlene. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at Dunn Funeral Home. Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Straubel officiating. Spring interment will be at Littleton Cemetery.
