ELLSWORTH – Margaret Anne Richardson Clark, died Nov. 26, 2003, in Ellsworth. She was born Nov. 21, 1918, the daughter of Bernice Franklin and Richard Heber Richardson. She attended schools in Ellsworth and New York, and was graduated from Methodist-Episcopal Hospital of Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1940. She lived her entire married life in the house her grandfather built on the shore of Leonard Lake in Ellsworth. Peg always wanted to be a nurse and loved her vocation. She worked in the old “Hurley” hospital in Ellsworth and was the city nurse and the school nurse for more than 30 years. She will be fondly remembered by her former school children as “my” nurse. She is survived by one daughter, Anne B. Clark of Surry and her children, Adam, Ellen, and Laura Somes; a stepson, Bruce R. Clark and his wife, Betty, of Ellsworth and their children, Wayne and Jeff Clark; a sister, Constance Hanscom of Bayside and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and her children, Richard, Roger and Nancy; nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her lifetime friend and beloved husband of 46 years, Roland L. “Rollie” Clark. At Peg’s request, there will be no funeral. Arrangements are by Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
