BUCKSPORT AND BIRCH HARBOR – I, Margaret Crosby Archibald, was born Feb. 4, 1913, in Chicago, Ill. and passed away peacefully Sept. 26, 2006, at the age of 93. I was in business in Bucksport for 47 years with husbands, Elton “Fat” Crosby and Robert Archibald, operating such establishments as Mustard Can, Joanne Spa, Crosby’s Lunch Trailer, Skimo Ice Cream Stand, Lunch Stand Fort Knox State Park and the Elmac Motel. Our businesses were a success because of the boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen who worked for us as well as the good will of our customers near and far. Farewell, Margaret. Margaret was predeceased by her two husbands; daughter, Joanne and son-in-law, Wesley Carr. She is survived by three granddaughters, Jalaine Svabek and husband, Michael, Pamela Patten and husband, James “Putt” and Rachael and Larry Budwine; along with five great-grandchildren, Tiffany Pierson, Lyndsy Clough, Mallory Patten, James Haynes and Ashley Budwine; three great-great-grandchildren, Evan Philbrook, Whitney Pierson and Drew Pierson; also, special friends, Jeanne Bridges and Edison and Letita Church. Up until a few years ago, you would see Margaret raking the leaves in the fall and shoveling snow on the cold winter days. Friends and family are invited to a graveside service 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Silver Lake Cemetery, Bucksport, to celebrate her life. Arrangements are being made by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
