EAST MILLINOCKET – Margaret D. “Mag” Fernald, 95, died at her home Jan. 22, 2004. She was born June 11, 1908, in Millinocket, the daughter of Alexander and Etta (Vance) Young. Mrs. Fernald was a member of The First Congregational Church of East Millinocket, where she taught Sunday school. Margaret loved to knit and cook and enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. Margaret was a colorful personality whose presence was always recognized. She was proud of the fact that she was a breast cancer survivor of 45 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Wendell; one brother, Alexander; and one sister, Mildred; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Bob Hersey, Carolyn and Harold Raymond Griffen; an infant daughter, Barbara; a special daughter, Mary King; three grandchildren, Tommy, Stevey and David. She is survived by one daughter, Wendella and husband, Bill TenEyck, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; two sons, Thomas Fernald and David (Bruce) and wife, Judy Fernald, all of East Millinocket; 12 grandchildren, Billy, Margie, Jimmy, Tom W., Kirk, Della, Bobby, Mike, Shelly, Wendy, Mark, and Jason; she was GG to many great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two nieces and two nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at the First Congregational Church of East Millinocket, with Pastor Mark Pilletere and Lay Minister Pauline “Billie” Farrington officiating. Spring burial will be in East Millinocket Cemetery.
