BANGOR – Margaret E. Bartlett, 95, wife of the late Alton B. Bartlett, died April 2, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 15, 1910, in Camden, the daughter of William and Ivonette (Walden) Wentworth. Margaret graduated from Camden High School and then worked for Viner Brothers Shoe Co. for many years. She loved to cook and was devoted to her husband and family. She is survived by one daughter, Geraldine Makhlouf of Bangor; one son, Raymond Bartlett of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Naomi Kearns; two sisters, Golda Hall, and Mildred Shorey; her brother, Trussell Wentworth; and one grandson, Richard Kearns. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, with the Rev. Grace M. Bartlett, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope, Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately following the interment.
