HOULTON – Margaret Brewer Rhoda, wife of the late Wakelief Rhoda, passed away peacefully Aug. 3, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, at her residence. She was born Dec. 10, 1924, in Houlton, the daughter of Harry and Ola (Huggard) Brewer. Margaret was in the banking business for 40 plus years, retiring as Fleet Bank service representative. Margaret was a devoted wife, assisting with the family farming operation. She was a member of Houlton United Methodist Church, Church Ebbett Circle and past member of the board of trustees, a member of Quiet Quilters Church group and a past member of Houlton Community Country Club. The two loves of her life were golfing and playing bridge. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Jane Guy and her husband, David, of Hodgdon and Karen Summer and her husband, Larry, of Brewer; four grandchildren, Tabor Young of Boothbay, Jordan Guy of Hodgdon, Paige and Jordyn Sumner, both of Brewer. She was predeceased by her husband, Wakelief Rhoda; and her infant son, Michael Allen. The family would like to express a special thank you for the wonderful care given to Margaret by Visiting Nurses of Aroostook and the ambulatory department of Houlton Regional Hospital. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Houlton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Naomi Sam’Kpakra officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery with a reception after at Houlton United Methodist Church.
