MADAWASKA – Marguerite Cote, 88, died Dec. 5, 2004, at a Frenchville nursing home. She was born in Quebec, P.Q., Canada, April 28, 1916, the daughter of Harry Emile and Marie Anna (Savard) Marmen. She was married to Arthur Cote for 56 years until his death in 1997. She was also predeceased by one son, Gilles Cote in 1971; three brothers; and one sister. “Margo” loved her plants and flowers, both indoors and out. She loved to read books and play old records. Without a doubt, her very favorite activity was playing cards. She is survived by three daughters, Nicole Parent and her husband, Ron, of Charleston; Huguette Cote of Madawaska; Jocelyne Hunter and her husband, Steve, of Elk Grove, Calif.; three grandchildren, Charles Parent of Jacksonville, Fla.; Margo Parent of Carlisle, Mass.; Kelly Hunter of Elk Grove, Calif. She also leaves behind a beloved sister and brother-in-law, Therese and Holly McSorley of Miramichi City, N.B.; and many cousins and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska. Internment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
