HAMPDEN – Marguerite L. (Hall) McNally, 87, wife of the late Eugene F. McNally, passed away Nov. 16, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 23, 1916, in Bethel, the daughter of Fred B. and Gladys (Buck) Hall. Marguerite graduated from Gould Academy in 1934 and attended the Maine School of Commerce in Portland. She was employed by Coran Oil, was secretary to philanthropist, William Bingham II, and secretary to Dr. J.B. Fransworth. Marguerite spent several years in banking at Bethel National Bank and the Bethel Branch of Casco Bank. Marguerite retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Hampden Office in 1986. She was a member of the Bethel Congregational Church and was affiliated with the Hampden Congregational Church. She is survived by one sister, Madeline H. Dampier of Gainesville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her dear friend and neighbor, Roberta Arsenault and family. She was predeceased by her husband; and by a sister, Wilma Quimby. There will be no funeral services by Marguerite’s request. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Bethel. Donations may be made in her memory to the Bethel Congregational Church, Church Street, Bethel, ME 04217 or to the Hampden Congregational Church, P.O. Box 9, Hampden, ME 04444. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
