FREEDOM – Marguerite M. Raven, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, in Waterville with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 30, 1942, in Patten, the daughter of Roland E. and Hope (Cole) Asher. Marguerite married Floyd E. “Manny” Raven Jr. and together they shared 33 wonderful years. Marguerite enjoyed taking car rides with her husband, trying her luck with scratch tickets and watching the wildlife that surrounded her home. She was very comfortable spending time at home and her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and the family dog, Ben. She was predeceased by her parents, Roland and Hope Asher; as well as two sisters, Ruth and Dottie Asher; and a special friend, Doug Rich. Marguerite will be sadly missed by her husband, Manny; her children, Lana Tucker and her husband, Aaron, of Patten, Dawn Tower and her husband, Ervin, of Patten, Sarah Landry and her husband, Richard, of Patten, Samuel Hotham and his wife, Melinda, of Newburgh, Patricia Hotham and her companion, Mike, of Waterville, William Hotham and his wife, Beth, of Patten, Linda Gardner and her husband, Wayne, of Patten, Joanna Hotham and her companion, Craig, of Unity, Brandy Raven and her companion, Randy, of Albion and Lucas Raven of Freedom; 24 grandchildren, Val, Keith, Bubs, Allyson, Andy, Anthony, Brittany, Brandon, Aaron, Ron, Ross, Wes, Ryan, Amy, Shayla, Bradley, Jacob, Ross, Chris, Shyanne, Dustin, C.J., BreAnne and Paige; her great-granddaughter, Emily; her brother, Edward Asher of Lincoln; her sisters, Dorothy Sides of Bangor and Sandra Winship and her husband, Emerson, of Presque Isle; two uncles, many nieces, nephews and the family dog, Ben. As per her request, a private family celebration of Marguerite’s life was held Tuesday. Burial will be in the spring at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Freedom where family and friends will gather for a graveside service.
