TRUMBULL, Conn. – Marian Frances Pratt Dresser, 82, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, in Bridgeport Hospital after a long battle with lung cancer and congestive heart disease. She was the beloved wife of George T. Dresser for 61 years. Born in Schenectady, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Jane Denn Pratt. Mrs. Dresser was a graduate of Scotia High School in Scotia, N.Y., and attended New York State Teacher’s College (now SUNY) Albany, N.Y. She worked in the accounting department at General Electric in Schenectady during World War II. She volunteered with the Cub Scouts, Fair Housing Program, “FISH” Assistance Program, Suicide Watch Telephone Program, was a church schoolteacher and medical healthcare center secretary. In addition to her husband survivors include her daughter, Carol A. Dresser of Plymouth, Conn.; son, Dr. John D. Dresser and his wife, Virginia, of Hanover, N.H.; granddaughters, Sarah Dresser of George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and Laura Dresser of Columbia University, NYC; nephews, Frank Myers and his wife, Diane, of Colonie, N.Y., and Donald Myers and his wife, Bonnie, and their children, Daren and Brandon of Cohoes, N.Y.; her sister-in-law and dear friend, Patricia Dresser of Bangor; aunt, Josephine McCarthy of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; and uncle, Art Pratt and his wife, Fern, of Cut and Shoot, Texas. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Frank (Brud) Myers. A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, in the Long Hill United Methodist Church, Main and Elizabeth St., Trumbull, Conn. Friends may greet her family 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the church.
