PORTLAND – Marie A. Richardson, 88, died peacefully Dec. 9, 2007, at Seaside Nursing & Retirement Home, Portland. She was born March 2, 1919, in Soldier Pond, the daughter of Hilaire and Hattie (Gagnon) Dube. Marie owned and operated, with intense dedication, Richardson’s General Store, Brownville Junction, for more than 30 years, then 18 happy and productive years of retirement in South Portland. She is survived by her sons, Robert of Zephyrhills, Fla., and William of Portland; and her granddaughter, Karen Montgomery and her husband, Larry, of Franklin, Tenn.; two brothers, Artie and his wife, Theresa, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Leonard and his wife, Gloria, of Eagle Lake; four sisters, Noella Pinette of Soldier Pond, Lorette Perreault of Fort Kent, Bernadette Dube of Fort Kent and Betty Russell of Miami; and several devoted nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hadden; her son, David; three sisters, Annette Perrault, Dorothy Sutherland and Mildred Cote; three brothers, Willard Dube, Alcime Dube and Rudolph Dube; and her devoted companion, Roy E. Oldham. The family thanks the staffs of Seaside and Beacon Hospice for their tender care. In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to a charity of one’s choice. There will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at St. Patrick’s Church, 1342 Congress St., Portland.
