BROOKS – Marie B. Mollison, 85, died peacefully June 8, 2005, at Tall Pines Healthcare facility, surrounded by her loved ones and Ziggy. She was born June 9, 1919, in Millinocket. She is survived by her loving husband, John Y. Mollison Sr. of 66 years; her eight children, Rose Marie Dudley of Belmont, John Mollison Jr. of Brooks, Anna Mae Fortenberry of Longwood, Fla., David Mollison of Mount Chase, Catherine and husband, Carl Sjogren of Ashland, Barbara and husband, Grayling Cunningham of Searsport, Anita and Alan Darby of Burke, Va., Mary and husband, Sheldon McCormick of Waldo; one sister, Rosaline Whitcomb; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Marie and John lived in Brooks their entire marriage. She will be remembered as a godly wife, loving mom, friend to all, and grandmother. Her acts of kindness were experienced by many people. Her talents were numerous such as an encourager, great cook, seamstress and Sunday school teacher. She spent many years helping her husband on the chicken farm. She was always available for her family, friends, and pets. In between her motherly duties she worked as a wood buyer for E.D. Bessey and Sons. Many of her customers will remember her famous yeast rolls. Even though we know she is in a better place, she will be deeply missed by many. The whole family would like to extend a sincere “thank you” to the entire staff of Tall Pines Health Care Facility and Ziggy, the resident cat. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
