ELLSWORTH – Weymouth E. Nutter, 73, passed away June 6, 2005 at MCMH, Ellsworth. He was born Jan. 7, 1932 in Brooksville. He traveled the country as an adult, living and working in New Jersey, where he met his wife of 40 years, Rita, of Detroit, Mich., where he was a UAW worker, of Sedgwick and Brooksville, Fla., where he worked for the Labor’s International Union before retiring from the Local 1377, wintering in Florida before returning to Maine to be near his family in 1996. He is survived by his daughters, Wendy Day and her husband, Mike, of Ellsworth, Audrey Nutter of Norfolk, Va., Lee Shirland and her husband, Tom, of Fayetteville, N.C., Janet Doucette and her husband, Fran, of Old Town, Debbie Jacko and her husband, George of Cranford, N.J.; sons, Craig Nutter and his wife, Danisha of Wanamassa, N.J., Harold Duddy and his wife, Joanelle, of Concord, N.C., Kevin Duddy and his wife, Susan, of Brooklin, Brian Duddy and his wife, Maria, of Sedgwick; 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; his sisters, Miriam Black and Emma Gray and her husband, Joe, of Brooksville; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rita, in March of this year; his parents, Fred and Hannah Nutter and brothers, Lewis, Paul, and Franklin. Friends are invited to call from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Jordan-Fernald, South Street, Blue Hill, where a remembrance of his life will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Home Cemetery, Sargentville. “He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road getting rough and the hills hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyes.”
