PRESQUE ISLE – Marie Mariland (Doak) Lamb, 77, wife of Granvill Lamb Sr., died July 7, 2008, at home, with loving family by her side. She was born March 9, 1931, in Washburn, the daughter of the late James C. and Letha L. (Wilcox) Doak. Marie was a kind, patient and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her time spent with her family and always found that one special thing about each that she was able to emphasize to let that person feel special. Beginning her 59-year marriage with Granvill, she was a homemaker and mother, then added the role of bookkeeper in their business, Lamb’s Garage. In 1967 she became co-owner of Lamb’s Ambulance Service. She was a licensed emergency medical technician and also received her pilot’s license. Marie retired with Granvill from their third business, County Sweeping Service in 1992. Continuing to be busy, Marie called bingo at Aroostook Center Mall and was president of Star City Senior Citizens for 10 years. She loved doing for her senior citizens and was always looking out for them, whether it was just a phone call to check on them to fully working to be their advocate. She will be missed by many. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Ellen Doak, 9 months, in 1941 and Betty Jean Doak, 18, in 1947. She is survived by two sons, Granvill N. Lamb Jr. and his wife, Janice, of Presque Isle and Richard Lamb, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Caribou; three daughters, Donna Underwood and her husband, Carroll, of Presque Isle, Betty Hess and her husband, the Rev. Stephen, of Lititz, Pa., and Nancy Giggey and her husband, Paul, of Brunswick; all 10 of her grandchildren, Ken Lamb and his wife, Becky, Julie-Ane Brown and her husband, Harvey IV, Kelly Chartier and her husband, James, Kristopher Lamb, Janel Underwood-Charette and her husband, Chad, David Hess and his wife, Katrina, Michael Hess, Matthew Ingalls, Brian Ingalls and Chris Mooney and his wife, Jessica; and all five of her great-grandchildren, Harvey Brown V, Hunter Brown, Gabriella Underwood-Charette, Isaac Underwood-Charette and Kameron Chartier. Also surviving is her 91-year-old aunt, Velma Allen of Waldorf, Md. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the service Thursday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10, with the Rev.
