BREWER – Marilyn L. Littlefield, 74, died July 8, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 13, 1934, in Bucksport, the daughter of Fred G. and Millicent L. (Meade) Littlefield. She was a graduate of Bucksport High School, Class of 1952. Lynn enlisted in the Women’s Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged in 1957. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in social work from the University of Maine in 1963 and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan in 1967. She was employed with the Maine Department of Human Services for a time, and then she became director of social services at Eastern Maine Medical Center for a number of years, and finally was employed as a psychiatric social worker for the Probation and Parole Office for the Bangor area. She had been retired for several years. She was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Glendon and Edric Littlefield. Surviving is a sister, Jeannine Brooker of El Paso, Texas; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. Graveside services with military honors will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, at Silver Lake Cemetery, Macdonald Street, Bucksport, with the Rev. Linda Smith, pastor of Elm Street Congregational Church, Bucksport, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Elm Street Congregational Church, 31 Elm St., Bucksport, after the service. Lynn had a passion for animals and wildlife. In keeping with that passion, instead of flowers, donation of pet food: cat, dog and rabbit, may be made to Area Agency on Aging, 450 Essex St., Bangor, ME 04401 or Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
