BREWER and MARS HILL – Marie Ruth Osgood, 73, beloved wife, cherished mother, grandmother, and sister passed away quietly early Friday, May 12, 2006, at a Bangor hospital, losing to the relentless battle of dementia/Alzheimer’s disease. She was born June 21, 1932, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Bernie and Sadie (Holmes) Garrison. Marie’s had many hobbies including 10 pin bowling (high league average), bridge, mahjongg, and playing the piano. She was also a Girl Scout Leader at the former Loring Air Force Base for several years. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert L. Osgood of Brewer; her son, Robert K. Osgood; two daughters, Vicki Wilcox, Sandi Bishop, all of Bangor; two sisters, Linda Calway, Rayma Philbrick, both of Lamoine; her stepfather, Clarence Kempton Adams of Easton; seven grand-children, one great-grand-daughter; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she truly adored. Of all of these, she has always missed her mother the most, and has now gone to be with her in Heaven, so they can “play,” it was her final wish. She was a dear friend to many who knew her and will be deeply missed by all. We will carry you deep in our hearts always. In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her brother, Bernie “Bub” Garrison; and sister, Sharon Lee. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 15, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, Pastor of the Bangor Advent Christian Church, officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
