BANGOR and BAR HARBOR – Marietta (Enslin) Mansfield, 97, wife of the late Raymond S. Mansfield, died Oct. 16, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare center. She was born May 19, 1907, in Trenton, N.J., the daughter of Daniel and Mary Etta (Multop) Enslin. Marietta attended the Bar Harbor Baptist Church and the Brooklin Baptist and had been a resident of the Phillips-Strickland House, Bangor for several years. Surviving are three children, Raymond Mansfield, Jr. and his wife, Dorothy, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., John Mansfield and his wife, Leslie, of Bangor, and Marietta Gay and her husband, John, of Charlton, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Peter Harris, Ellen Sievers, Caroline Comenzo, Rachel Rogers, James Mansfield, Jason Mansfield and Jessica Mansfield; three great- grandchildren, Cody Sievers, Mia and Gabriel Comenzo; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Willard and Robert Enslin; and three sisters, Margaret Cook, Anna Johnston and Helen Clarkson. A private graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newburyport, Mass. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Brooklin Baptist Church, Brooklin, ME 04616.
