LOWELL – Marilyn G. York, 79, passed away Nov. 12, 2005, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born June 1, 1926, in Harmony, the daughter of Lester and Ella (Myrick) Curtis. Marilyn loved to knit and made many pairs of gloves. She enjoyed reading magazines and doing crossword puzzles. Years ago she was part of the Grange, and she enjoyed many trips to Lakewood Theater. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Frederick and Kim York of Passadumkeag, Samuel and Ethel York of Howland, Richard and Bonita York of Lincoln and Lois and Alan Thurlow of Lowell; two brothers, Ivan Curtis of East Millinocket and Lester Curtis Jr., of Georgia; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Austin A. York, her loving companion, Lynn Tucker, as well as two sisters and two brothers. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Shorey officiating.
