HOLDEN and WEST ENFIELD – Marion C. Copeland, 88, died peacefully Sept. 6, 2005, with her family by her side at a healthcare facility in West Enfield. She was born June 1, 1917, in Bangor, the daughter of Harold L. and Helen L. (Clewley) Bowden. Marion was a life long member of the Holden Congregation Church and was involved with many church functions. She was a member of the Ladies Home Circle of the Holden Congregational Church, Holden Fireman’s Auxiliary, and the Friendship Circle. Knitting was Marion’s passion throughout her life. She is survived by a son, Donald Copeland and wife, Joyce, of Island Falls; a daughter, Louise Cox, of Brewer; a sister, Bertha Jennings, of Plymouth, Mass.; five grandchildren, John Mingus Jr., Brian Copeland, Patrick Cox, Jennifer O’Brien, and Kristen Cox; five great-granddaughters. Marion was predeceased by her husband, Arthur H. Copeland, in 1990; and by a daughter, Judith Mingus, in 1994. Friends are invited to a time of fellowship and refreshments 1-2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Holden Congregational Church, where a service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m., with the Rev. Katherine M. Fisk and Deborah Fletcher officiating. Interment will be at Harts Corner Cemetery, Holden.
