LINCOLN – Marion Elizabeth (Southworth) Edwards, 86, passed away Oct. 27, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 30, 1921, in Fulton, N.Y., the daughter of Alfred Holden Southworth and Florence (Hubbard) Southworth. In 1925 Marion went to live with her beloved grandparents, John and Catherine (Neville) Southworth; and three aunts, Sarah H., Isabel F. and Marion A. Southworth of Methuen, Mass. She graduated from Edward F. Searles High School in 1939 and attended Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg, Va., until her marriage to 2nd Lt. George E. Edwards of Lincoln, Dec. 12, 1942, in Methuen, Mass. She moved to Lincoln in 1946. She is survived by three sons, John S. Edwards of Lincoln, Timothy N. Edwards and Gina Boynton of Kenduskeag, and George L. Edwards and wife, Brenda, of Lincoln; grand-children, Catherine I. (Edwards) and Steven Doane of Springfield, Leah L. (Edwards) and David R. Gelhar of Durham, Laurel L. (Edwards) and Carl Brady of Anchorage, Alaska, Heather L. (Edwards) and Garry Sollis of Zoetermeer, the Netherlands, Victoria M. (Edwards) and Mark Blom-sma of Lincoln, Ian D. Edwards, George E. Edwards, and Autumn M. Edwards, all of Lincoln, Conan L. Nadeau of Milbridge; great-grandchildren, Crystal E. McLain of Bangor, Donald E. McLain of Springfield, Caiden E. Brady and Devon Brady of Anchorage, Alaska, Paige S. Gelhar and Sydney Susan Gelhar of Durham and Sophie E. Blomsma of Lincoln; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Kent, Brett and Grant Doane of Springfield; several nieces and nephews. She leaves some very special people, Patricia and Steve Bates, Tammy and Adam Asher, Rhonda Ryder, Jeanette and Erwin Perry, John’s law partner, Richard Johnson and his wife, Elena and Danielle Brehaut. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Carolyn Metzler and the Rev. Richard Johnson officiating.
