ELLSWORTH – Marion H. Maddocks, 79, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born July 18, 1926, in Newark, N.J., the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Beurer) Hans, and the stepdaughter of Albert Phillips. Marion attended schools in New Jersey. She worked at Maddocks’ Farms in North Ellsworth and Hancock. She also worked for E.B.S. at the old building on School Street in Ellsworth, and at the Hancock County Extension Office. Marion loved her family and her cats, and she enjoyed reading and gardening. On March 9, 1947, she was married to Gerald B. Maddocks. Together they shared 30 years until his death in 1977. Marion is survived by a daughter, Patricia G. Buteau and her husband, Augustus “Gus,” of Ellsworth; two granddaughters, Jennifer M. Grant and her husband, Kenneth, their children, Kenneth, Jr. “K.J.”, and Megan and Heather L. Garnett and her son, Zachary, all of Ellsworth; two stepgrandsons, Robert B. Buteau and his wife, Veronica and Veronica’s son and daughter, Kevin and Tamika, all of Lewiston, and William J. Simpson of West Henrietta, N.Y. Graveside services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.
