SHIRLEY – Vivian P. McKeon, 87, died Oct. 26, 2005, at her home in Shirley. She was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Shirley, the daughter of Clouse and Phebe (Davis) Allen. She attended Shirley Elementary School and graduated from Greenville High School, Historian of her class, in 1936. In the early years of her marriage, Vivian and other members of her family knitted at home for Shirley Industries. Later she drove school bus for the town of Shirley, transporting students to Shirley Elementary and Greenville High School. In the early 50’s, Vivian and her family moved to Missouri where she and Paul had successful careers at McDonnell Aircraft Corporation. After retirement, Vivian and Paul moved back to Shirley where they were active in the Democratic Party. Vivian joined her husband in activities such as the CCC Organization and AARP, but most of all Vivian was known for her devotion to her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband after 60 years of marriage, Paul McKeon. Vivian was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by her father and mother, Clouse and Phebe (Davis) Allen; a brother, Elwood Allen; and two sisters, Iona Dunton and Athalie Gilles. Vivian is survived by three daughters, Phebe Potthoff and her husband, Walter, of West Chester, Pa., Colleen Taylor and her husband, Dave, of Elverson, Pa. and Corally Bacon and her husband, John, of Hartsville, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Shirley Community Church, followed by the funeral service at noon with the Rev. Dr. Everett Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery in Shirley. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to the Shirley Community Church, P.O.
