DOVER-FOXCROFT and ROME, N.Y. – Marion J. Jetton, 93, was called to the Lord Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, from Hibbard’s Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft, after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 7, 1912, in Conroy, Texas, the daughter of Rev. Charles and Lucille Johnson. Mrs. Jetton graduated from Gonzales, Texas High School and Prairie View College, Prairie View, Texas. In 1932, she married Rufus Cravens, a union of 16 years. Marion later married, Beverly Richard “Jet” Jetton Dec. 7, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas. He died Nov. 22, 1976. Mrs. Jetton was employed at Rome Developmental Center for over 13 years. While in Rome she was a member of the Church of Christ and was a volunteer at Bethany House. During and after World War II, she was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She is survived by two daughters, Claudette (Cravens) Roberts of Middletown, N.J., Charlene (Jetton) Heretakis, Dover-Foxcroft; a son-in-law, John Heretakis of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter-in-law, Miyoko Cravens of San Bernardino, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Rumi, Rica, Richard, Robert Jr., John Richard, Christopher, Kara, Andrew; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Robert “Bobby” Cravens, who died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005. She will be sadly missed by many close friends especially, Louise Daley, Audrey Snellbacher, Paul and Janet Hughes, Valerie Martin, Bonnie Rose, Maryanne Gray and will be deeply missed by Cleta Patterson-Smith. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 North George St., Rome. Interment Rome Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
